Apex PHL opens day care center in Leganes

By DAVID ISRAEL SINAY

LEGANES, Iloilo – The long wait is over. After almost 28 years and 26 club presidents, the Apex Club of Leganes proudly unveiled its first work party project at the Municipality of Leganes --- a one-room building for use of daycare children.

Funded by the Association of Apex Clubs of Australia, the facility is expected to alleviate the limited capacity of the existing daycare center in the municipality to accommodate all preschoolers in the town proper.

Prior to the project, the daycare facility here could house an average class of 50 children. With the realization of the project, however, the new facility can now accommodate two classes of preschoolers with a class size of no more than 30 pupils, with one session in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Work Party Chairman Ian ‘Willy’ Oates of Australia led the turnover and blessing ceremonies of the newly built day care center here along with three other foreign delegates, local government officials, social workers and members of Apex Club of Leganes and Apex 45, on Tuesday.

Oates was accompanied by his wife, Christina, David Jarman and Bruce Mackie.

Apex Leganes Club President Alain Pulmones said that the project would help in the growth of children.

Children enrolled in daycare centers are provided with supplemental parental care that will ensure their comfort and safety and provide creative experiences, mental stimulation, cognitive skills development, and value formation.

Children aged three to five years old are the ones enrolled in daycare centers.

The Apex Club of Leganes Day Care Center Work Party Project was approved during the term of then Apex Australia National President Jeff Hardie and Apex Philippines National President David Israel Sinay.

The Association of Apex Clubs is a non-sectarian, non-profit and apolitical civic organization.
