Looking Back!

Mrs. Raynelda Briones hand-over the cash donation to Apex Club of Leganes President Alain Pulmones from former Bursary Scholars Darlyn and Darren Briones. Mrs. Briones said it's her son and daughter's way of looking back on the support provided by Apex Club of Leganes and the Bursary on their education. Darlyn is now working in Hong Kong; while Darren finds a stable job in Korea.

Promoting Healthy Lifestyle

Apex Club of Leganes and the Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) promoting healthy lifestyle by initiating "Taebo" exercises everyday at the Leganes Municipal Pavilion. The organizers came up with an award recognizing the "biggest loser" participating in the daily routine exercises. The activity was held last October 6, 2012 at the Municipality of Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines.

Tree Planting '12 with Bursary Scholars

Apex Club of Leganes Bursary Scholars join the tree planting activity in Brgy. Guinobatan, Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines on August 27, 2012. The group planted 50 jackfruit seedlings which were adopted by the barangay to ensure it will grow and bear fruits, and provide food for the community.

 The Apex Club of Leganes initiates of providing pre-schoolers with free writing and reading materials. The Apex Club of Leganes targets to provide the same to all the day care centers in Leganes, Iloilo, Philippines!

LEGANES, Iloilo – The long wait is over. After almost 28 years and 26 club presidents, the Apex Club of Leganes proudly unveiled its first work party project at the Municipality of Leganes --- a one-room building for use of daycare children.

Uygongco Foundation launches book drive to benefit adopted public schools


ILOILO City - The Uygongco Foundation Incorporated (UFI) here kicked off its book drive in a small ceremony held at the activity center of Amigo Mall here on Monday.

The event dubbed as ‘A Book for my Christmas Angel’ aims to encourage the private sector and interested individuals to donate their old books for the benefit of several public school library in Iloilo and Guimaras.

Ma. Pia Paz Gan-Uygongco, executive director of UFI, said the book drive is for the benefit of the foundation’s adopted schools in Western Visayas.

Apex Club of Leganes enlists lady members


LEGANES, Iloilo - Nearly three decades following its humble beginnings, the Apex Club of Leganes – which solely consists of dedicated young men – has once again indulged in another monumental step.

For the first time, the Club recruited and inducted Lady Apexians coming from the ranks of its Bursary Scholars, marking their entry to the roster of the Association of Apex Clubs Philippines.

Whendy Joy Guardialao and Glaizon Caldeo carry the honor of being the first Lady Apexians and Bursary Scholars to join the Apex Club of Leganes.

Apex Club of Passi heightens community service influence


PASSI CITY, Iloilo – With the purpose of rendering voluntary service to the community, 25 young men and women have joined the Apex Club of Passi, an active club member of the Association of Apex Clubs, Philippines.

Apex is an apolitical, civic organization composed of young and focused volunteers taking their responsibilities sincerely, seeks links to a broader society and promotes a real sense of fun and camaraderie.

The induction ceremony was held at the Universal Robina Corporation (URC) – Passi, Sugar Division in San Enrique, Iloilo, Philippines on July 8, 2011. Aside from the induction of new Apexians, Apex Club of Passi President Gerry Plantig was also installed into office.

Apex PHL, Iloilo City, partners in service - City Mayor


ILOILO City – Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog hailed the strong public–private–partnership between the Association of Apex Clubs, Philippines and Iloilo City in helping his administration serve the community.

Mabilog cited the activities and remarkable contributions of Apex PHL in community service.

“I am touched that Apex Clubs makes the ideal of service the basis of all its enterprise and that its members develop a more intelligent and aggressive citizenry by example. We are, in fact, partners in public service and in building better communities,” Mabilog stressed.
